About

Chris Butler

A British author, currently bringing decades of ideas and manuscripts into publication, alongside new work.

Chris Butler

Chris Butler has spent around thirty-five years developing stories, ideas and manuscripts, some finished, many not, alongside a working life spent elsewhere. The May 7 Protocol, a conspiracy and techno-thriller about surveillance, institutional power and artificial intelligence, is the first of that material to reach print.

The plan from here is a steady, ongoing catalogue rather than a single book: further novels roughly every three to six months, with poetry, essays and shorter pieces appearing between them. Some of what follows will be new. Some of it has been waiting a long time.
